What’s Next For Wi-Fi?
By Louis Frenzel, Communications/Test Editor

Wi-Fi is that short range wireless LAN technology that practically everyone uses. Also known by its IEEE standard designation 802.11, it has achieved ubiquitous status since virtually all laptops incorporate it and there are few, if any, enterprise LANs that do not support multiple access points. But in all its glory, Wi-Fi is nearing that state of being taken for granted.

TARDEC Hybrid Electric Humvee

TARDEC, working alongside DRS Technologies, has designed and developed a highly efficient, mobile power source demonstrator. The XM1124 Hybrid Electric Humvee is an advanced series hybrid electric vehicle that houses an engine/generator as the prime power source; a high voltage battery pack for short term load leveling and brake event energy storage; and has the ability to export power. The vehicle demonstrator displays tactical mobility, and in some cases surpasses the standard Humvee. With additional characteristics that reduce fuel consumption, provide for export power, and meet some standard Humvee requirements, the HE Humvee has payoffs that can be attained on current and future military vehicles.

By John L. Volakis

I will be straight with you and say I have no idea how to write a review of a book like this. It does indeed fit the definition of the word “tome,â€쳌 but I mean that in the best possible way. If you are looking for a master reference on antennas, this is certainly a great one. You will not be disappointed.
